Art-Nouveau lecture at Newark Museum

We just got back from an exceptional lecture in Newark Museum: ART NOUVEAU: A JEWEL IN EVERY MEDIUM. Our speaker, Ben Macklowe (director of Macklowe Gallery in New York), was very, very knowledgeable and equally entertaining. The main idea I got out of this lecture was that every piece of art (even though it's purely decorative art) is not just a beautiful thing, but has a certain meaning, a hidden message, and that makes everything so much richer.
