A smooth crystal in a jagged rock, a speck of sunshine on a cloudy day, a path of grass in the sidewalk - the natural world is filled with contrasts of texture, colors, and shape. I am inspired by how seemingly disjointed, contrasting objects fit so gracefully in nature. I hope to express this simplistic beauty in my jewelry as I continuously experiment with different techniques and materials.

Paul Cézanne once wrote that everything in nature can be represented by the cylinder, the sphere, and the cone, put into perspective. This idea deeply resonates with me - I love the way simple shapes, when combined, become entirely something else, complex and beautiful. In jewelry design, the sense of the shape and the line is what's most important to me. Sometimes it's about working with uniquely cut stones, sometimes it's a cultural reference, as in my architectural jewelry line. Either way, I hope to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.
